New year, new business phone?
It’s hard to resist, especially with the latest specs and designs making upgraded business mobile phones faster, more efficient and overall better for you and your employees.
If you are looking for an upgraded business mobile phone in 2023, there are a few key features you should be looking for to get all the benefits.
These will include:
- A battery that lasts a long time between charges (ideally, it should last a full work day, even with heavy use)
- Durable, robust design and build so it can withstand drops and spills (these are inevitable)
- A faster processor so you can multitask and get your projects done on the go without worrying about delays
- 5G capability so you can benefit from the fastest available data and download speeds
- A screen that makes it easy to review emails, documents and projects, without being too bulky (especially if you’re planning on adding a cover)
- Wide selection of business/ productivity apps
- Enterprise security and encryption to keep your sensitive data secure
several business mobile phones could fit this bill in 2023 (with others coming down the line later in the year)
But if you’re looking to upgrade now, we’ve pulled together our list of what we think are the best business phones in 2023.
iPhone 14 Pro Max – Best premium iPhone
Apple’s iPhone range is becoming synonymous with ultra-performing business smartphones, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is no exception.
The A16 bionic chip continues to be the market leader in fast processing for smartphones, so you can tackle any task on the go with ease.
At 6.7 inches, this is the biggest screen of the new iPhone 14 range, and its HD display makes it perfect for reading emails, reviewing documents, completing projects or joining video calls from anywhere.
The battery remains consistent, and you shouldn’t have any problems getting to the end of the day before looking for a charger. If you are running low on juice, the fast and wireless charging capabilities mean you’ll be back up and running again in no time.

iPhone 14 – Best all-around Apple business mobile
If you’re looking for similar tech specs to a premium phone, don’t mind sacrificing some of the premium performance and don’t want to go into ‘budget smartphone’ category, then the iPhone 14 is an excellent choice for the majority of users.
The A15 Bionic chip is a step down from the Pro Max’s A16, but it’s still more than fast enough to handle most things you could throw at it while working remotely or on the go.
At 6.1 inches, the display is slightly smaller than that on the Pro and Pro max versions, and the pixel resolution is slightly lower too, but if you’re just planning to read emails and scan documents, it’s more than enough.
It’s also not going to make your video streaming any worse.
You won’t have a problem with the battery life, and you can reliably get more than nine hours of use out of the phone between charges.
If you don’t mind a smaller screen size and slightly lower performance than a premium, top of the line Apple smartphone, the iPhone 14 could be just what you’re looking for.
iPhone 14 Key Features

- Front camera: 12MP
- Rear cameras: 12MP main, 12MP ultrawide
Samsung Galaxy S22 5G – An affordable flagship Samsung
5G ready, fast processing, and plenty of battery life, if you’re looking for a standout Android smartphone for your business, you can’t go wrong with the Samsung Galaxy S22 5G.
This ticks all the boxes you’d expect from a top-tier Android phone.
Ultra fast 5G connectivity means you’ll have no problem accessing and downloading essential files and emails when on the go. The super smart screen is also perfect for reviewing documents or emails and is ideal when you need to jump on a quick video call.
The 3700 mAh battery isn’t the longest lasting in the S22 series. However, it’s still way above much of the competition at a comparative price, and it’ll easily last you a full day of working, even with heavy use, before you start digging around for a charger.
If you’re not an iPhone fan, are thinking of switching to the Android operating system, or want to upgrade your existing Android, the Samsung Galaxy S22 5G is the perfect business mobile phone.
- Size: 146 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm
- Weight: 167 g
- Screen: 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
- Resolution: 2340 x 1080 pixels
- Chipset: Octa-Core
- Battery: 3700 mAh (fast, wireless and reverse charging)
- Storage: 128GB
- Memory: 8GB
- Front camera: 10MP
- Rear cameras: 50MP + 10MP + 12MP (optical zoom at 3x and digital zoom at up to 30x)
Samsung Galaxy Fold4 5G – best ‘mini tablet’
There’s no question Samsung is leading the way in the development of foldable and flip smartphones, and the Fold4 5G is a great choice for businesses that want a fast 5G phone, with a bigger screen.
The ultra fast 5G connectivity guarantees fast connections and downloads when you’re out and about, while the Octa-Core chip more than holds its own when it comes to giving you fast processing speeds.
There’ll be no worrying about multitasking with the Fold4 5G.
The Octa-Core processor will outperform many other phones within a similar price range, while the folding screen – which is 7.6 inches when extended – means you can easily multitask.
It’s essentially like having a mini tablet in your pocket.
Rounding out the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 5G is the super reliable battery, which can easily withstand heavy use for more than nine hours before your need a charger. Plus, with fast, wireless charging an option, it won’t take long to be back up and running.
Overall this is a brilliant business smartphone for those wanting to hark back to the days of folding flip phones.
- Size: 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3 mm
- Weight: 263g
- Screen: 7.6 inch full rectangle Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
- Resolution: 2176 x 1812 pixels

OPPO Reno Pro 5G – A reliable Android alternative
The OPPO Reno Pro is a more than solid mid-range smartphone for business.
Although not quite up there with flagship Android phones like Samsung, it’s (very) close and is a solid alternative if you don’t have the budget for a top of the line Android phone.
The 6.7 inch screen is more than big and clear, enough to do all your daily tasks like checking messages or sending emails on the go, and the Mediatek processor is more than enough to get your work done.
If you’re worried about internal storage, there’s potentially an issue with the built in 256GB storage and the fact there’s no space for a Micro SD card, although that will store plenty of apps and files on your phone and many smartphones no longer support SD cards.
All in all, the OPPO Reno Pro 5G is a super fast business smartphone with reliable connectivity and a good battery life that’ll let you get through your work without many problems when out and about.
- Size: 161.2 x 74.2 x 7.3 mm
- Weight: 263g
- Screen: 6.7 inch AMOLED display
- Resolution: 2412 x 1080 pixels
- Chipset: Mediatek Dimensity 8100-Max
- Battery: 4500 mAh
- Storage: 256GB
- Front camera: 32MP
- Rear cameras: 50MP
iPhone SE (2022) – best budget phone
Apple’s upgraded SE (2022) is a great choice for those looking for a top performing business phone without shelling out the money for a premium device.
Built like the iPhone 8 on the outside, but with the basic performance of the iPhone 13, the iPhone SE (2022) can go toe-to-toe with many of the ‘market leading’ business mobile phones.
The fast ultra fast A15 Bionic processor is only beaten by that in the latest flagship iPhone Pro and Pro Max.
And with super quick 5G connectivity and long battery life, the iPhone SE (2022) will have no problem keeping up with you as you fly through tasks from anywhere.
If you’re a fan of iOS but don’t want the expense of a flagship Apple phone, then the iPhone SE (2022) is the one for you).
